This is a deck boat that was weak and falling apart from the forward bulk head to the bow.

Serious repairs were needed!

There were a cracks, scratches, and gouges which needed repair. This vessel was also in serious need of a buff and wax job. We brought this boat back with style.

1. Stringers were falling apart and the fiberglass was pulling up in sheets due to an old repair gone wrong.

3. The weakness allowed the hull to flex beyond its limits causing the center chine to crack (not shown were multiple cracks where the stringers were imbedded)

4. Water was getting through the cracks causing hydrolysis. (Hydrolysis is the break down of resins in fiberglass induced by contact with water.)

12. The stringers were replaced with a foam core. Three 3/4 inch pieces were laminated together with a resin mixture called cabosil then formed into shape. These stringers are light and fragile at first but turn tough as nails once the resin soaks into them. The layers of mat and woven are cured and they don't rot.

13. We keep a clean work area so as not to stain the deck.

14. About 11 layers of mat and woven roven makes a little over a quarter of an inch. Mat ALWAYS is used for a better bond between layers of wovens or cloth.

16. The outside center chine got about 12 layers of mat which was then ground down into the shape you see with very little polyester fillers.

20. The shelf inside is glassed right to the stringers. This means no screws to come loose or let water in and it adds a lot to the strength of the hull.
