This is on a deck boat that appears to have fallen on its lift and cracked the hull.

1. This was found when the boat was pulled from the water for buffing and waxing. Slow leaks can be the most damaging kind.

2. It seems strange to make a small hole bigger, but to get a proper repair this is how it goes.

4. After grinding a Vee and cleaning the inside it is first filled with a core material.

5. Then ground smooth again with 24 grit and filled a little over a quarter inch thick with chopped strand mat.

6. Taped off to maintain a level surface.

7. Then it is ground smooth and a paper thin polyester fairing is applied.

8. Then we color match the gel coat, spray it on and polish it.
